History and Background
For the past 50 years, Lesotho has been receiving food donations and other development aids from International Non Governmental organizations and yet the country has no significant change. The focus are been more about service delivery rather than empowerment. Recognizing this ongoing issue, Basotho Building Lesotho (BBL) was established to bridge the gap and seek to transform communities from the inside-out by helping the people realize and believe in their own capacities and asset. Asset Based Community Development is employed to enable greater involvement of communities in the transformational development process. The main activities we focus on are Leadership development, Agricultural development, Entrepreneurship, Christian Education, Peace Building and Conflict Transformation.
Basotho Building Lesotho currently has stated its operations in 4 targeted communities in 4 district in southern part of the country implemented using integrated holistic approach. Basotho Building Lesotho long term development activities typically 3 years are implemented in these carefully identified geographical areas in 4 districts of Lesotho. Communities within these areas come together from the grassroots and we add value and increase the impact of the quality life of people through breaking the cycle of poverty.
BBL is looking for donors who want to be a part of the long-term solution for breaking the chains of poverty in Lesotho through a holistic, Jesus centred approach to capacity building. Supporters of BBL will help contribute to the empowering of national people and break the unhealthy dependancies that have been created. To support Khotos Mokitimi and his ministry:
