Our Story

About Us

MMF was founded by Gerhard and Luise Wiens in 1983 in the province of British Columbia, Canada. In 1985 MMF was registered as a Charitable Organization with Canada Revenue Agency. The Wiens’ first had a burden to reach the old Mennonites colonies in Mexico. Their first ministry of preaching and teaching happened in Mexico from 1983 to 1990. In 1990 Gerhard started ministry in Ukraine. In 2006, Gerhard’s health deteriorated and his oldest son Helmut Wiens became the Executive Director.

Since 2012, MMF has been in a season of unprecedented growth. During this time, many more agencies and individuals signed agreements with MMF to become part of the organization. We currently work in 20 different countries globally with over 50 agents/missionaries. Our goal is to support, encourage, and train indigenous missionaries and organizations around the world who are engaged in fruitful Kingdom work. In the last couple of years, our staff team has grown as well.  Together, they work with their administrative team Susan Wiens, Chelsey Hinton and Zlata Zolotarova.

Our Mission

MMF is committed to supporting national missionaries at home and abroad, who are engaged in spreading the Good news of Jesus Christ, both in word and in deed.

Our Core Values

We focus our efforts on preaching the gospel, supporting the local church, educating leaders and believers, and providing humanitarian assistance through relief and development for those in poverty, danger, and ill-health. We partner with agents and missionaries around the world who are proclaiming the Good news of Jesus in word and in deed.

Statement of Faith and Doctrine

As an evangelical, non-denominational organization, we align with evangelicals around the world. Our statement of faith is from the World Evangelical Alliance.

We believe in:

The Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

One God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and his personal return in power and glory.

The Salvation of lost and sinful man through the shed blood of  the Lord Jesus Christ by faith apart from works, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Unity of the Spirit of all true believers, the Church, the Body of Christ.

The Resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
